Shop News In the Shop this week:
Lovely selection of autumn vegetables including: Squashes, Cavalo Nero, Savoy Cabbages, Jerusalem Artichokes, Celeriac, as well as all the usual favourites. Not forgetting Pumpkins.
Apples and Pears are in abundance: Katy and Cox together with the delicious Russetts from Steyning and Bramleys for cooking. Both Conference and Comice pears are eating well.
New on the Jam shelves: Home made pickled onions that have been maturing for the last 6 weeks in cider vinegar. Piccalilli made with a variety of vegetables, malt vinegar and spices.
The shooting season is in full swing, here we have a wonderful display of Venison surrounded by Wild Duck and Pheasant. All locally shot and ready for cooking. The Venison has been hanging in our cold room for 10 days before Jim has jointed it into Haunch, Best End, Loin, Cutlets, Stewing Cuts and Diced Shoulder. |
