In the Shop this Autumn:

Tony the mushroom collector has been foraging the woods, he won't say whose woods of course, but he has brought us a good supply of Hedgehog , Chantrelles and Trumpet.

                

Lovely selection of autumn vegetables including:

Squashes, Cavalo Nero, Savoy Cabbages, Jerusalem Artichokes, Celeriac, as well as all the usual favourites.

Not forgetting Pumpkins.

 

 

Apples and Pears are in abundance:  Katy and Cox together with the delicious Russetts from Steyning and Bramleys for cooking. Both Conference and Comice pears are eating well.

 

Jenny has again made her rough country pate, made with coarsely minced pork herbs and lemon. This is particularly delicious with apple mint jelly

Home cooked Ham is available most weeks

New on the Jam shelves:

Home made pickled onions that have been maturing for the last 6 weeks in cider vinegar.

Piccalilli made with a variety of vegetables, malt vinegar and spices.

Applemint Jelly made from the wild crab apples on the farm.  Pear and Ginger Chutney.

 

 

 

 

 

The shooting season is in full swing, here we have a wonderful display of Venison surrounded by Wild Duck and Pheasant.

All locally shot and ready for cooking.

The Venison has been hanging in our cold room for 10 days before being jointed  into Haunch, Best End, Loin, Cutlets, Stewing Cuts and Diced Shoulder.

Also available is a good supply of locally caught rabbit.

Partridge and sometimes Woodpigeon

 

 

Local Cheeses now feature well on the cold display shelves.

Smoked Salmon from Springs in Fulking.

Fruit and Vegetable Juices are very popular.
